If not then not…

Alive today dead tomorrow

So what?

Beyond love there is no sorrow

So What?

I left your house

Went away from your path

The suitors continue to hate me

With the same fervor

Yes I have other worries

beyond you

You are not the cause of my pain

At least for the day

Simplicity sometimes gladdens me

In my mind

There is no tumult

Which is good

A straight path goes

From falsehood to truth

There is no twist in the way

Twists do not matter

I cried a lot

While I was with you

So when I parted from you

I did not shed a tear

I flirt in old age

My blood does not boil

As it did in my youth

So what?

  1. this reminds me of unfinished business, unspoken words, lost or thrown away diaries. almost like running away be saying nothing..the simplicity is dauntingly gorgeous!! it’s almost like the ‘shop is closed for lunch-time’ note on the door! like caring too much and not caring at all.. at the same time…
    reminds me of this verse
woh khatam qaid ki miad bhi nai kerta
    mein zehmat-e-faryaad bhi nahi kerta
woh kabhi kabhi mujhey itna yaad ata hay faraz,
mein zid mein aa ker usay
    yaad bhi nai kerta

    • That was a fantastic verse by Faraz! I’ll try to come up with a new ghazal by reflecting on those words… something about zehmat-e-faryad appeals to me greatly! Thank you for sharing that 🙂
